Top Creative Skills for big brand marketers

According to a new poll, creative and production talents were at the top of the list for brand owners and chief marketing officers (CMOs) looking to recruit agencies in January.

The inaugural Marketers Most Wanted study, created by Studio Space and based on actual briefs submitted by CMOs, discovered a high demand for brand strategy and user experience (UX) professionals.



According to the research, 14.6% of CMOs want creative and production assistance, particularly for video-based initiatives.

According to the poll, 12% of CMOs were seeking agencies to help with UX or user interface (UI) initiatives, and the same amount required help with brand strategy.

Studiospace President Peter Sayburn believes that agencies with strong video content and production capabilities will be in high demand for some time.

“A lot of CMOs we talk to are particularly interested in finding people who can generate high-quality films, and generally businesses don’t have these specific capabilities in-house,” he said. “As a result, I’d expect creative and production abilities to remain in high demand for the foreseeable future.

“Yet, it’s worth noting that brand planning ranks high on the list. “I believe there was a time when many industry leaders focused on digital and performance, but those leaders are now focusing on longer-term brand building efforts,” Sayburn said.

Other high-demand areas for CMOs were digital marketing (9.8%) and social media (7.3%).

“Digital marketing is still a busy field, and this demonstrates businesses are still engaged in increasing traffic to their sites and ensuring customers know about them,” Sayburn added.

“In addition, many companies think that the most intriguing dialogues with customers are taking place on social media. But, we can see that the marketing mix for large businesses is highly diverse, with agencies certainly playing a significant part.”

The Marketers Most Wanted poll is issued monthly and is based on briefs made on the Studio Space platform by CMOs and brand owners.
